The World Series Of Poker Circuit has made it publically that they have completely revamped this schedule of this year’s events held in Council Bluffs, Iowa which will start on August 19th. The new schedule will include 12 stops that will eventually lead up to the WSOP 2011 that will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada. All of the stops have been involved in the previous years but this year they are really pushing to put the Circuit back on the map.

So you are probably wondering what changes have been made so keep reading. In previous years, the big event at each stop would include a $5k buy-in. For years each event would be the spotlight of the stop with the events being overcrowded, live entertainment provided, pros joining the event, and even being recorded by TV stations but after awhile that all changed. The coverage slowly diminished and with more and more pros passing up the events there were fewer people playing in the tournaments. However, with the new structure things may change very quickly.
This year there will be a $1.5k buy-in event at each stop. With the new lower price this should help to attract new players who are looking to brand themselves in a WSOP event. With more dead money on the line the pros will be more opt to participate. For those who are looking for something more you will be happy to know that 4 of the stops will also have a Regional Championship that has a $10,000 buy in. This is in addition to the Main Event. You will see many rivals from the North American Poker Tour and the World Poker Tour. Since there will be more televised exposure this year there will definitely be more pros attending than there have been in the past few years.
To help revive the WSOP Circuit they have added a $1 million National Championship event that will be held just a short time before the 2011 WSOP Event takes place. This event will consist of 100 players that qualified in one of 4 ways: make the final table during one of the Regional Championship events, win either of the $1,500 Main Events, be one of the 36 people with the highest points for the 2010 – 2011 WSOP Circuit, or be the Casino Champion by accumulating more points than any other player. If you are one of the lucky players to complete any of these you will be on your way to Vegas to play for your share of a 1 million dollar prize pool.
With the new perks and rewards you can bet there will be new amateurs lining up for their shot at fame and fortune. Keep checking back to read on how things play out for the WSOP Circuit this year.

Well many players around the world are currently gearing up and anticipating the upcoming 2010 WSOP which stars on May 28th. Many of the online casinos such as Poker Stars, Bodog, and FullTilt Poker are pushing the qualifiers and satellites to give away more packages. If you are wanting to enter the WSOP but don’t have the funds it’s not too late to win your way into one of the biggest poker events of the year. The tournament will begin on May 28th and will run through July 17th. Each day will hold different events and have different buyin amounts. The final tournament to determine the WSOP 2010 Main Event winner will take place in November.
I am very excited to see what new faces appear this year and who will take home the bracelets. I believe that Daniel Negreanu will be at the final table or at least I am hoping so since he is one of my favorite players of all time. I’m cheering you on Daniel!

David Williams took down the WPT (World Poker Tour) Main Event for 2010. He has participated in the WPT Event before including making it to the final table. His reputation in the poker world is known as being good – “good at making the final tables”, but now he has done what out he set to do when he first started playing the WPT Events by taking 1st place. Along with the title he took home $1,530,537 this year as the WPT Champion. The buy-in of $25,000 + $500 was definitely worth it for David Williams and a few other final table players who went home with a smile on their face.
Second place winner Eric Baldwin took home $1,034.715, third place winner Shawn Buchanan took home $587,906, fourth place winner David Benyamine took home $329,228.
Other notable winners included 5th place winner Billy Baxter who took home $246,921 and John O’Shea who took home $199,888 for 6th place.
In all there were a total of 18 places paid with the lowest pay out being $47, 0333. The winners list was combined with faces that are already well known in the poker world along with a few newcomers. I am sure we will see great things coming from this group including the newest WPT Champion David Williams.

LeRon Washington won the World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational with a total KO! He definitely worked hard and deserved to win after knocking out close to 600 other players. He played against some of the world’s best poker players including Thor Hansen, who is a poker pro. LeRon had his sight on taking 1st place and that exactly what he went in and did. He is going home with his head held high, $100k smackers in his pocket, and now with the reputation that every poker player dreams of having.
Dream big, Practice, and make your dreams happen!
